We are saddened to hear of the passing of long-time Davenport Public Library employee Pat Till. Ms. Till died Friday, January 10, 2020 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.
Patricia Emily Till was born July 22, 1949 in Davenport to Charles C. and Jane (Griffin) Miller. She married Pvt. Richard Thomas Till in 1966. Their son, Richard, was born later that year. Patricia went back to school and graduated from Davenport Central Central High School in 1968.
Pat began working at the Davenport Public Library on August 16, 1973. She spent most of her 41 years working as a clerk in the Children’s Department with Miss Rochelle Murray. She retired from the Customer Service department in September 2014. After retiring she would often stop by and visit with her best friend and fellow retired library employee Sandy.
Pat loved working with kids, and we often hear people say they have fond childhood memories of her. She always greeted them with a smile. The staff and patrons of the Davenport Public Library will miss her dearly.

Pat was always so friendly with a smile on her face.
I remember riding the city bus with her to Central. She was always kind
My Condolences on Pat’s passing. I enjoyed talking to her on my many visits to the downtown library. She was a very friendly person and always called me by name and asked about my children and grandchildren when they weren’t with me. I believe I last saw her shortly after she retired. May she rest in peace.
Ohh!!!
Will miss her. She loved the children and gave great hugs❤
So sorry to hear this. Pat was one of the sweetest persons I knew. Always a smile and kind face. She fit perfectly in the children’s section. I remember bringing my own children and the Headstart classes down to the library to visit Pat and Rochelle many years ago. I will keep her in my prayers. Library won’t be the same without her.
I am so sorry to hear this. I enjoyed working with Pat.
Oh my! We’ve moved away from Davenpory, but my daughter let me know about Miss Pat. My children all loved her, and were all so proud to write their name and get that first library card. And the summer reading programs! They loved getting their prizes from her.
I loved going every Saturday morning to the library to see this lady. She was such a wonderful woman.
Rest in peace pat you will be truly missed.we will meet again one day face to face.
