Commemorative\npublications, programs, and tours are planned in the US, the UK, and the\nNetherlands by various organizations, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themayflowersociety.org\/2020-commemoration\">General Society\nof Mayflower Descendants<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/mayflower.americanancestors.org\/about-2020\">New England Historic\nGenealogical Society<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth400inc.org\/\">Plymouth\n400, Inc.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparation for the festivities,\nwe will be blogging about our resources for different <em>Mayflower<\/em> families\nthroughout the year. This month we&#8217;ll explore the family of Henry Samson!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry Samson was baptized on January 15, 1603\/04 in at St. Mary\u2019s Church, Henlow, Co. Bedford, England to James and Martha (Cooper) Samson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry was about 16 years old when he boarded the Mayflower with his cousin\/aunt Ann (Cooper) and Edward Tilley. His relatives did not survive the first winter at Plymouth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Henry was a teenager and did\nnot sign the Mayflower Compact he is sometimes overlooked as a Mayflower\nAncestor. Henry Samson married Ann Plummer on February 6, 1635\/36 in Plymouth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Samson moved to Duxbury ca. 1643\nand was elected constable in 1661 and tax collector in 1667-68. The will of \u201cHenery\nSampson of Duxburrow\u201d is dated December 24, 1684.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first generation of Henry Samson\ndescendants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Elizabeth<\/strong>, born 1638-1642, married Robert <strong>Sprout<\/strong> ca. 1661.<\/li><li><strong>Hannah<\/strong>, born 1642-1646, married Josiah <strong>Holmes<\/strong> on March 20, 1665\/6.<\/li><li><strong>[unknown]<\/strong>, born ca. 1648, married John <strong>Hanmore\/Hanmer<\/strong> ca. 1682.<\/li><li><strong>John<\/strong>, born ca. 1640. <\/li><li><strong>Mary<\/strong>, born ca. 1650, married John <strong>Summers\/Somers<\/strong> ca. 1684.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Dorcas<\/strong>, born ca. 1652, married Thomas <strong>Bonney<\/strong> ca. 1684.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>James<\/strong>, born ca. 1644, married Hannah <strong>[unknown]<\/strong> <strong>Wait<\/strong> ca. 1679.<\/li><li><strong>Stephen<\/strong>, born ca. 1638, marriedElizabeth <strong>[unknown] <\/strong>ca. 1686.<\/li><li><strong>Caleb<\/strong>, born ca.1654, married Mercy<strong> Standish <\/strong>ca. 1686.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to learn more about Henry\nSamson\u2019s descendants?
