Commemorative publications, programs, and tours are planned in the US, the UK, and the Netherlands by various organizations, including the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themayflowersociety.org\/2020-commemoration\" target=\"_blank\">General Society of Mayflower Descendants<\/a>, the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mayflower.americanancestors.org\/about-2020\" target=\"_blank\">New England Historic Genealogical Society<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth400inc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plymouth 400, Inc.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparation for the festivities, we will be blogging about our resources for a different\u00a0<em>Mayflower<\/em>\u00a0family each month. This month we&#8217;ll explore the descendants of John Howland!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Howland was born in Fenstanton Huntingdonshire England to Henry and Margaret Howland. An exact date of birth has not been established. He was believed to be over 80 years old when he wrote his will dated 29 May 1672.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John married Elizabeth Tilley prior to 25 March 1624 in Plymouth. They were married before the 1623 Division of Land but after the marriage of Governor Bradford on August 14, 1623.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first generation of John Howland descendants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Desire<\/strong>, born ca. 1624 in Plymouth, married John <strong>Gorham<\/strong> ca. 1644<\/li><li><strong>John<\/strong>, born 24 April 1627 in Plymouth, married Mary <strong>Lee<\/strong> on 25 October 1651<\/li><li><strong>Hope<\/strong>, born 30 Aug 1629 in Plymouth, married John <strong>Chipman<\/strong> ca. 1647<\/li><li><strong>Elizabeth<\/strong>, born in Plymouth, married John <strong>Dickinson<\/strong> on 10 July 1651<\/li><li><strong>Lydia<\/strong>, born in Plymouth, married John <strong>Brown<\/strong> ca. 1654<\/li><li><strong>Hannah<\/strong>, born in Plymouth, married Jonathan <strong>Bosworth<\/strong> on 06 July 1661<\/li><li><strong>Joseph<\/strong>, born ca. 1640, married Elizabeth <strong>Southwood<\/strong> on 07 Dec 1664<\/li><li><strong>Jabez<\/strong>, born ca. 1644 in Plymouth, married Bethia <strong>Thacher<\/strong> ca. 1669<\/li><li><strong>Ruth<\/strong>, born ca. 1646 in Plymouth, married Thomas <strong>Cushman<\/strong> on 17 Nov 1664<\/li><li><strong>Isaac<\/strong>, born ca. 1649 in Plymouth, married Elizabeth <strong>Vaughn<\/strong> ca. 1676<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to learn more about John Howland\u2019s descendants?
