{"id":9461,"date":"2010-12-09T06:00:41","date_gmt":"2010-12-09T12:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs2.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/?p=9461"},"modified":"2010-11-23T12:30:01","modified_gmt":"2010-11-23T18:30:01","slug":"alias-on-dvd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/alias-on-dvd\/","title":{"rendered":"Alias on DVD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/alias.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2238069\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9469\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/alias1.jpg?resize=212%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"212\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>I feel a little bit silly now realizing that<strong><em> <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2238069\" target=\"_blank\">Alias:\u00a0 Season One<\/a><\/em><\/strong> began airing almost ten years ago, and yet I am only now getting into this awesome series.\u00a0 It stars Jennifer Garner as Sidney Bristow, a grad student who is part of what she thinks is a covert branch of the CIA called SD-6.\u00a0 After getting engaged, she decides she has to come clean to her fiance about being a spy.\u00a0 Unfortunately, since her status has now been compromised, the head of SD-6 orders that Sidney&#8217;s fiance must be killed.\u00a0 This is when Sidney learns the horrible truth about SD-6:\u00a0 they&#8217;re not really part of the CIA.\u00a0 Rather, they&#8217;re part of an organization that the real CIA has been fighting for years.\u00a0 At the end of the pilot episode, Sidney goes to CIA headquarters and offers to be a double agent and help them bring down SD-6 once and for all.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|215512\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9470\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/alias-2.jpg?resize=210%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>So far I&#8217;ve only gotten through season one, but I&#8217;m definitely interested in seeing more (I just checked out <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|215512\" target=\"_blank\">Alias: Season Two<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and I&#8217;m dying to go home and watch it!).\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to not keep watching, especially since almost every episode ends with a cliffhanger!\u00a0 One of the things I have found most interesting about the series is the relationship between Sidney and her father, Jack Bristow.\u00a0 After finding out that her father has also been working for SD-6 for years, she is surprised once again to find out that he&#8217;s also a double agent for the CIA.\u00a0 The two have never had a close relationship, so through their double agent work, they&#8217;re getting to know each other once again.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a really interesting dynamic and I&#8217;m enjoying watching it develop.\u00a0 The cast is great and gels together well, and the series is well-written and has a lot of exciting action sequences.\u00a0 I highly recommend it, especially if you like other J.J.
