\u00a0a golden retriever named Trixie.\u00a0 And even though Trixie passed away in 2007, she is still, remarkably, writing books.\u00a0 Of course, it probably helps that she was owned by bestselling author Dean Koontz, who may still have a little something to do with her success.\u00a0\u00a0 In fact, Koontz states that the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.deankoontz.com\/trixie\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <strong>Trixie\u00a0 page<\/strong><\/a> on his website is one of the most visited features.<\/p>\n<p>Trixie has inspired several books, including <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2144200\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>A Big Little Life<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, in which Koontz wrote about his relationship with his beloved pet.\u00a0 But she&#8217;s also inspired some new children&#8217;s books, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2226574\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>I<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> Trixie, Who Is Dog<\/em><\/strong><\/a> , the rights to which have recently been purchased in order to create a new family comedy show.\u00a0 But her speciality is definitely books\u00a0such as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|1244022\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Life is Good<\/em><\/strong> <\/a>or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2081452\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Bliss to You<\/em><\/strong>,<\/a> which are written in dog-speak, as is if Trixie is narrating the story.\u00a0 Though for the most part, this is utterly charming, I&#8217;ll warn any ex-English teachers out there (myself included) that dogs apparently do not always use correct syntax.\u00a0\u00a0Still, the book is warm, funny, inspirational and short &#8211;you can easily find bliss in one short sitting &#8212; making it an ideal gift for dog-lovers come Christmas time.<\/p>\n<p>One other reason to support these books:\u00a0 since Trixie originally served as a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cci.org\/site\/c.cdKGIRNqEmG\/b.3978475\/k.3F1C\/Canine_Companions_for_Independence.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Canine Companions for Independence<\/a><\/strong> (before she went to live with Dean and Gerda) all royalties are donated to this organization.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This book is written by a dog.\u00a0 Granted, a very special dog &#8212;
