In <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|1052464\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Falling in Love<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, DeNiro and Streep meet\u00a0 and, of course, fall in love, on a commuter train. <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|919347\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>The Station Agent<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, a great indie film, is about a\u00a0loner who inherits a train depot. Against his will,\u00a0\u00a0he develops friendships with those he meets at his station.<\/p>\n<p>Novels made into films include Michael Crichton&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|1370803\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>The Great Train Robbery<\/em><\/strong><\/a> , John Godey&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|465329\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>The Taking of Pelham 123<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and Patricia Highsmith&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|499347\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Strangers on a Train<\/em><\/strong><\/a> &#8211;\u00a0turned into a\u00a0\u00a0wonderfully funny and creepy \u00a0Hitchcock movie.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s hoping you find love and\u00a0romance rather than crime, terrorism and murder on your next train ride.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Those Stimulus dollars are raising the hopes of train-loving Quad-Citians; they are starting to\u00a0dream of\u00a0 riding the rails to Chicago and \u00a0Iowa City, and perhaps to even more exotic lands.
