I am definitely one of those girls who watches the BBC presentation of Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy over and over and over again. I also watch Bridget Jones&#8217; Diary starring Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy over and over and over again. In fact, a good majority of my favorite movies\u00a0 are a version of the Jane Austen&#8217;s classic.\u00a0 Why watch anything else when you can watch Mr. Darcy (especially when that Mr. Darcy is played by Colin Firth)?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|994547\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"1050\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3896\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/BrideAndPrejudice.gif?fit=1050%2C140&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"BrideAndPrejudice\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|994547\"><strong>Bride and Prejudice<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nBride and Prejudice is Pride and Prejudice gone Bollywood, and it is FANTASTIC. Yeah, that is what Amanda thought, too, until she started causing chaos in her beloved story when Mr. Bingley falls in love with her and Jane agrees to marry Mr. Collins. Maybe Miss Austen didn&#8217;t tell us the whole story&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2026320\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"1050\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3900\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/BecomingJane.gif?fit=1050%2C140&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Becoming Jane\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|2026320\"><strong>Becoming Jane<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSo Colin Firth will always be my favorite Mr. Darcy, but after seeing James McAvoy as Tom LeFroy, the man who may have inspired the Darcy character, he became my favorite actor. Swoooooon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|221869\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"1050\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3901\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/BridgetJonesDiary.gif?fit=1050%2C140&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Bridget Jones's Diary\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|221869\"><strong>Bridget Jones&#8217;s Diary<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nFAVORITE! I went through a phase in college where I watched this movie about once a week, now I watch it about once a month. Ren\u00e9e Zellweger is BRILLIANT as Bridget Jones and Colin Firth is DREAMY as Mark Darcy. Laugh laugh tear giggle swoon laugh.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"1050\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3902\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/PrideAndPrejudice.gif?fit=1050%2C140&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Pride and Prejudice\" height=\"140\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|272837\"><strong>Pride and Prejudice<\/strong> (the BBC Version)<\/a><br \/>\nBy far THE BEST straight-up movie version of Pride and Prejudice. Some may be daunted by the six hour viewing time, but I say the longer the better (I have been known to watch it twice in a row&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p>and for those of you who prefer <em>Emma<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|1013157\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" width=\"1050\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3903\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.davenportlibrary.com\/reference\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/clueless.gif?fit=1050%2C140&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"clueless\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/search.prairiecat.info\/?itemid=|library\/marc\/PALS-unicorn|1013157\"><strong>Clueless<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nLong before he was part of Seth Rogen&#8217;s gang, Paul Rudd was the Mr. Knightley to Alicia Silverstone&#8217;s Emma of Beverly Hills.
