Its\u00a0slogan boasts “18 miles of books.”\u00a0The\u00a0third floor of\u00a0The Strand\u00a0houses an opulent Rare Book Room. Here,\u00a0dyads (or in one case, a trio) of writers were invited\u00a0to\u00a0sit and share\u00a0their thoughts\u00a0about life, work,\u00a0and\u00a0the things they\u00a0love.<\/p>\n

Upstairs at The Strand<\/a><\/strong> <\/em>is a written collection of these intimate conversations.<\/p>\n

As you read each chapter, you may\u00a0be compelled\u00a0to\u00a0imagine yourself an unseen guest\u00a0in the upstairs room,\u00a0listening. If you have ever been to the Strand or are familiar with any of the authors included, you may find it especially easy to imagine.<\/p>\n
