Consider joining many celebrities, libraries and bookstores across the country in the Banned Books Virtual Read-Out!<\/p>\n<p>Participants may proclaim the importance of the freedom to read by posting videos that will be featured on the\u00a0<a title=\"Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/bannedbooksweek\" target=\"_self\">Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out YouTube channel.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Video criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Choose a favorite banned\/challenged book and talk about what the book meant to you and how you would feel if someone prevented you from reading it.<\/p>\n<p>*A reading of a <a title=\"banned or challenged book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/bbooks\/frequentlychallengedbooks\" target=\"_self\">banned or challenged book<\/a>. The video should\u00a0include information on where and why the book was banned or challenged. You may also wish to add your thoughts on the importance of keeping that particular book on library or bookstore shelves.<\/p>\n<p>*Discuss an eyewitness accounts of local challenges.<\/p>\n<p>*For those who are camera shy, you\u00a0can still participate in the Banned Books Virtual Read-out by creating a video montage that centers on banned\/challenged books. Thomas University created a video last year that can be used as an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WoiJ44nSP34&amp;list=FLqruep4YtE-2ioIiG2MsWZg&amp;feature=plcp\">example<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submitting your video<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit your video by filling out this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bannedbooksweek.org\/virtualreadoutsubmission\">form<\/a>.
