<\/a>“This year, I have really enjoyed the Marvel NOW!\/All-New Marvel NOW!\/Avengers NOW<\/a>!<\/strong><\/em> relaunch that started in 2012, and sadly ended this year with the launch of Secret Wars. My favorite titles from the run are \u201cBlack Widow\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>by Edmonson and Noto<\/a>, \u201cDeadpool\u201d<\/strong><\/em> by Posehn and Duggan<\/a>, \u201cMs. Marvel\u201d<\/strong><\/em> by Wilson and Alphona<\/a>, \u201cThor\u201d<\/strong><\/em> by Aaron and Dauterman<\/a> and my very favorite, \u201cHawkeye\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>by Matt Fraction and David Aja<\/a>. All feature witty, crackling dialog, plots explore each character while never slowing the action down, and fantastic art (especially \u201cBlack Widow\u201d). You certainly don\u2019t have to be a comic book nerd to enjoy these titles!”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/a>“Enchanted August<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Brenda Bowen was my favorite book this year. It will always bring back memories of how I read it on the back deck on sunny afternoons this last summer. Views of Iowa\u2019s muddy creeks may not be as sought after as those\u00a0 of the Atlantic, but the two converged when I read this book. It\u2019s about three women \u00a0whose lives and relationships came together in a guest house on an island off the coast of Massachussetts.
