You&#8217;ll have many &#8220;I felt like that too!&#8221; moments, as the author describes her love of what she calls &#8220;Laura World.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wendy McClure, the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/216.125.140.44\/uhtbin\/cgisirsi\/x\/0\/0\/57\/5?searchdata1=ocn726214165&amp;user_id=davmainweb\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>The Wilder Life<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>is on the extreme end of\u00a0the <em>Little House<\/em> research\u00a0continuum, however. After a while, I found myself withdrawing &#8211; wishing I hadn&#8217;t heard that bit of myth debunking. I was quite happy believing that most things in the books were based on emotional, if not factual, truth.<\/p>\n<p>Of special interest are the details about how the tv series overtook the books in popularity and the legal battles over the &#8220;Little House&#8221; brand, or LHOP, as the author calls it.<\/p>\n<p>The end is satisfying and thought-provoking.\u00a0McClure ties in\u00a0what she learned\u00a0about\u00a0how\u00a0Laura Ingalls Wilder and Rose Wilder told their stories with\u00a0\u00a0how she came to terms with memories of her mother.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The beginning of the\u00a0audiobook version of this book\u00a0is\u00a0fun &#8211; especially\u00a0if you are also a Little House fan.
