Contemporary Club Papers<\/strong><\/a>
Founded in 1896, this bi-state essay club has provided a public forum on contemporary topics and issues. Its membership is limited to Scott County, Iowa and Rock Island County, Illinois residents. This index searches over 800 essays in 100 volumes of the Contemporary Club Papers by its more than 300 members. Topics have covered various issues including technology, social reform, education, history, politics, art, and music. Some original short stories have also been read.
