Okay, time for a mini math lesson. So what happens when you have a library and you add a little card, plus a little gaming, and sprinkle it with ultimate?
Yep. You guessed it.
Ultimate Card Gaming!
Tuesday night at 5:30 at the Fairmount St. Library teens will gather to play Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and whatever other cards they bring.
All teens are welcome to join in the fun!
Wait, better check my math to be sure:
library + card + gaming x ultimate = Ultimate Card Gaming!
Looks right. Phew. One more thing is that starting this summer we will be hosting Ultimate Card Gaming EVERY SATURDAY from 3-5.
Please try to contain your excitement.
September is just around the corner and that means our regular teen programs will be starting back up again. Yay! The line up for this year is as follows:
1st Tuesday of the month–Anime Club
2nd Tuesday of the month–TVC (Teen Volunteer Council & Gaming)
3rd Tuesday of the month–Ultimate Card Gaming (Magic/YuGiOh/…)
4th Tuesday of the month–Teen Tech Lab
EVERY Wednesday–Get Your Game On (free play video gaming)
Anime Club starts this Tuesday, September 1st, at the Fairmount St. library from 5:30-7:30. Don’t miss the first meeting and your chance to help plan the club’s activities for the season. Do we need a logo? Will you draw it? Should we have officers? Or just go with the flow? How about another chopsticks/M&Ms race and ramen noodle eating contest? (yes please)
Plus, we have big announcements concerning this year’s Anime Fest which will be held at the Figge Art Museum in October. Art contest anyone? Do we have cosplayers in the house? Stay tuned to tomorrow’s post for all the juicy deets.
Join us Tuesday night for our newest teen program, Ultimate Card Gaming! The fun begins at 5:30 in the computer lab at Fairmount. Be sure to bring in your Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh schtuff, as well as a few friends, and be prepared to throw down ’cause it’s about to be on like Donkey Kong. See you then.
|Ultimate Card Gaming for Teens!|
|The teens at Davenport Public Library have spoken. “We want card games!” they cry. And card games they shall have at the newest teen program, “Ultimate Card Gaming.” This unique group will meet the third Tuesday of each month, March through May, at 5:30 pm, at the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street).
Teens will play the latest and greatest card games, like “Magic: The Gathering” and “Yu-Gi-Oh.” These card games require analytical and social skills that will help the player defeat their opponent.
The Davenport Public Library is a safe and fun place for teens to hang out. Attracting hundreds of teens each year, the library is reaching out to its younger community, creating lifelong library users. This type of program is one way to get teens interested in reading and utilizing the resources their public library has to offer.
