It’s that time of year again!  ALA’s Teen Read Week is going on NOW!  What are you reading this week?

And don’t forget, you can vote for YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten now through Saturday October 19th.  Which of the nominees was your favorite YA book of the year?  (Code Name Verity gets my vote)

Last but not least, if you haven’t picked up a reading log for the Teen Reading Challenge, there’s still time!  Stop by any of our three locations to find one.  Keeping track of your minutes will get you cool prizes, an invite to the big party, and possible bragging rights for Team Davenport!

2013 Teen Reading Challenge

September 30, 2013

trc

It’s that time of year again! The QC libraries are taking part in the annual Teen Reading Challenge. We want to see which library’s teens can read the most minutes! As always, it’s super easy to participate: all you have to do is keep track of how many minutes you read from today through October 19th. Reading 250 minutes will not only get you a super cool prize, it will also get you an invite to the Teen Reading Challenge Party! This year it will be at the Rock Island Public Library on October 25th, and we’ll be enjoying food, games, crafts, and a costume contest.

Feel like you could read 250 minutes like it’s nothing? Great!! Reading more minutes will get you entries into drawings for more prizes at the party! Plus, reading more gives Team Davenport a better chance of winning the challenge. To get started, visit any of our three libraries and pick up a reading log. Go Team Davenport!
