It’s the first Tuesday in September. Hmmmmm. Do you know what that means???? Anime Club is back. Ch-Cha!
Tonight from 5:30-7:30 at the Fairmount St. library we’ll start off the season by previewing some of the latest Anime DVD releases from Operation Anime. We’ll also have cool cosplay crafts on hand and perhaps an epic anime activity or two up our sleeve. Oh, and if you show up tonight you’ll be the first to hear all the details on the upcoming Teen Anime Fest at the Figge.
Plus, the bonus news is that Anime Club will now be meeting TWICE a month. Yep yep, the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Join us and be sure to check out the complete schedule of Fall Teen Programs here.
Tomorrow night marks the last Anime Club of the season. *supersadface* And we’re hoping you’ll stop by for the party we’re about to throw! *happydanceface*
There will be a couple of special guests, prizes, candy sushi, chopstick tricks, Pocky, ramen, ramen, and more ramen. Nom nom nom…slurp. Show up in your best cosplay gear at the Fairmount St. library from 5:30-7:30 for the ramenlicious fun.
We’ll also have someone on hand from QC Anime-zing to tell you all about how you can save a few dollars by registering early for their next con. Or you can sign up to volunteer and help them out with the event.
Oh, and the next Anime Club meeting will be on the first Tuesday in September, which is not ’til forEVER. See you tomorrow!
Tomorrow night is the first Anime Club meeting of 2010!
We’ll be kicking things off with Anime Jeopardy so put your thinking caps on and tromp on over to Fairmount by 5:30.
And maybe…just maybe…if the Anime Karaoke CD I’ve reserved arrives in time we’ll have to have way too much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out these pics from “Food Night” at last night’s Anime Club.

You shoulda been there!
The plan for tomorrow night’s Anime Club is what we like to refer to as Food Night. This time around we’ll be featuring a couple of last year’s FN activities like the ramen noodle eating contest and we’ll most certainly have a chopsticks race of some sort. New for this year, we’ll be making our own candy sushi, and showing off a few select dishes pulled from The Manga Cookbook.
The Manga Cookbook, one of our newer YA non-fiction books, is full of great recipes and ideas for all the hungry manga lovers out there. It even has instructional tidbits on how to properly use chopsticks, and set the table in a traditional Japanese fashion, not to mention a list of some the more uncommon ingredients and tips on where to find them.
I’m wondering if Naruto Rolls go well with Ramune? Guess there’s only one way to find out…
Tomorrow night. 5:30. Fairmount Library.
