The following programs are going on at the Fairmount Branch Library through December:

  • Anime Club – Explore all things Anime the 1st and  3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.  (Registration is not required.)
  • Teen Volunteer Council – Be cool, volunteer at the Library! Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.  (Registration is not required.)
  • Teen Chess Club – Enjoy the challenge of an epic game of chess. Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. No December meeting.  (Registration is not required.)
  • Get Your Game On – Hang out, play video games and have fun! Every Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 p.m.  (Registration is not required.)

Also, be sure to check out our newest regular teen program called ‘Sew What?‘ which will be held on Saturdays at the Eastern Ave. Branch at 2:00 p.m. this September – November.  It’s the fun new program for tweens that want to learn how to sew or pick up a new hobby.  This is the perfect opportunity for those ages 8-13 to learn all kinds of needlecraft. From sewing and stitching to embroidery and more, learn a new skill and have fun. FREE! (Registration is required for the Sew What? program.  Call 563-326-7832 to register!)

If you missed our first round of Marble Magnet Madness-The Anime Version at December’s Anime Club then tomorrow night is your chance to catch up on the fun. 

Yes, Marble Magnet Madness-The Anime Version, Round 2 will begin tomorrow night at the Fairmount St. Branch at 5:30.  Bring your friends, bring your siblings, bring yourself and get ready to make some clearly cool crafts you can put in your locker, on the fridge, or wherever your little magnetic heart desires.

Anime Club is tomorrow night at Fairmount from 5:30-7:30.  Join us as we preview the 3rd installment of the xxxHolic Anime. 

We’re also going to make and enjoy candy sushi.  And if you’ve never had candy sushi before you are in for a super tasty treat! 

No registration is required for this free teen program.  Hope to see you there.

At tomorrow night’s Anime Club we’ll be continuing our fascination with the xxxHolic DVD series.  We’ll be screening the second collection and slurping some ramen. 

If you’d like to join us from 5:30-7:30 at the Fairmount St. library, we’ll save you a seat! 

No registration is required.  Oh, and the ramen is free…and so delicious.

OH NOES! We had to cancel Anime Club tonite, but we hope to still see you all at the Figge Art Museum this Saturday (Oct. 22) from 12-4pm for the 4TH ANNUAL TEEN ANIME FEST! :::jumping up and down and clapping and squeeeeeeling:::

It’s the first Tuesday in September.  Hmmmmm.  Do you know what that means????  Anime Club is back.  Ch-Cha!

Tonight from 5:30-7:30 at the Fairmount St. library we’ll start off the season by previewing some of the latest Anime DVD releases from Operation Anime.  We’ll also have cool cosplay crafts on hand and perhaps an epic anime activity or two up our sleeve.  Oh, and if you show up tonight you’ll be the first to hear all the details on the upcoming Teen Anime Fest at the Figge. 

Plus, the bonus news is that Anime Club will now be meeting TWICE a month.  Yep yep, the first and third Tuesdays of each month.  Join us and be sure to check out the complete schedule of Fall Teen Programs here.

Tomorrow night marks the last Anime Club of the season.  *supersadface*  And we’re hoping you’ll stop by for the party we’re about to throw!  *happydanceface* 

There will be a couple of special guests, prizes, candy sushi, chopstick tricks, Pocky, ramen, ramen, and more ramen.  Nom nom nom…slurp.  Show up in your best cosplay gear at the Fairmount St. library from 5:30-7:30 for the ramenlicious fun. 

We’ll also have someone on hand from QC Anime-zing to tell you all about how you can save a few dollars by registering early for their next con.  Or you can sign up to volunteer and help them out with the event. 

Oh, and the next Anime Club meeting will be on the first Tuesday in September, which is not ’til forEVER.  See you tomorrow!
