Yeah, it’s cold. Flippin’ cold. Why not stay in? Pick up some of those cold weather hobbies that you’ve been wanting to try. No – not those!! Like we’re going to blog THAT at the library site! Get real! The other ones!! Knitting!! Crochet!! Sewing!! What? You haven’t been wanting to try any of those? Oh – you’re missing out. Create your own gloves, scarves, skirts, vests, whatever. Totally original. Designed and created by you. The library even has some books (go figure! A library plug!) like this one:
Knitgrrl 2: Learn to Knit with 16 All-New Patterns by Shannon Okey
Or this one:
In*jean*uity by Ellen Warwick
Or even this one:
Second-Time Cool by Lindén Ivarsson
What? You don’t know how to do any of this stuff? Believe it or not the Davenport Library has a knitting club that meets on Tuesday nights at the Fairmount Library. 6pm. By the fireplace. They will teach anyone that shows up and wants to learn. They are a pretty cool group – most of what the make they donate to local charities – like baby hats to prenatal centers and lap blankets for cancer patients.
