Guitar Hero III & DDR Winners

Posted in Summer Reading, Teens, Video Gaming | No Comments »

To kick-off the 2008 Teen Summer Reading Program we thought we’d try and have some extra fun by hosting our first video game tournament.  Turns out, everyone had soooo much fun that plans for additional tournaments are already in the works.  In the meantime, check out these pics of the champs from the May 31st kick-off event that took place at the Fairmount St. location:

Plus, if you need something to do on a rainy summer day you can always hone your gaming skills by checking out a copy of Guitar Hero III or Dance Dance Revolution from the library.  Maybe you could be DPL’s next Guitar Hero…

Check It Out: Diary Of A Wimpy Kid

Posted in Reviews, Teens | No Comments »

This is a book about a boy who has lots of problems going into a higher grade.  I liked this book because it was funny and the most coolest book I ever read. I recommend this book to any kid who is looking for a good laugh.  And any girl who wants to see a boy having the worst time of his life.  So if you’re looking for a funny book to read, pick Diary of A Wimpy Kid.  –Ashley D., sixth grader

Stick It To Ya

At this Tuesday’s Teen Night Transformation, from 3-5 at the Fairmount St. location, we’ll be exploring the creative uses of duct tape.  Be sure to join us, as we’ll have plenty of brightly colored duct tape on hand for you to go wild with.  You can make just about anything you can think of out of duct tape.  We’ll start by creating one of a kind, super cool wallets and purses.  And if enough of you finish the Summer Reading Program this year, maybe we can duct tape a staff member to the wall.  Get reading.
