This film program explores movies that broke through conventions with innovative technology, radical viewpoints, or by questioning perceptions. Each evening, learn how these films changed the world of cinema and contributed to a different way of looking at the world. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Friday Flicks starts today!

Our Summer Reading Program continues with the start of Friday Flicks!

We will be serving up popcorn and showing G and PG-rated movies related to the Summer Reading theme “Dig Into Reading.” See the world from a bug’s view, live like a gnome, or sing like a muppet!

See if you can guess the first movie we’re showing, which bears the tagline, “The adventure is down there…start digging.”

Summer Reading Program Kickoff Carnival!

Join the Davenport Public Library this year for a fun-filled, action-packed carnival as the kick-off to the Summer Reading Program! Come to the Eastern Avenue Branch (6000 Eastern Avenue) tomorrow, June 1st, any time between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. for an afternoon of adventure!

The first stop will be signing up for the Summer Reading Program, with this year’s theme of “Dig Into Reading.” We’ll have information about the program and the grand prizes on display, plus a calendar of all our events taking place this summer. Other features will be a dunk tank, games, freebies, and Libby the Library Dog in all her glory as a 25’ balloon!
