Titanic's Marconi Room
A huge reason aid didn’t come to the sinking Titanic in time was the ongoing change in technology. The Titanic was outfitted with Marconi wireless equipment with staff to send messages (mostly social messages) in Morse code to those on land. However, other ships in the area were still signaling with lamps or had staff who didn’t know Morse code. In one instance, the only person who knew Morse code had gone to bed for the night by the time Titanic called for help.
