Titanic Fact #3: Mechanical Camel?!
King Edward VII, ruler of England during the age when Titanic was built, was a man who liked his exercise. Edward was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing sports. As a result, sports and exercise became popular among the wealthy class. The Titanic had a state-of-the-art gymnasium that included weights and rowing machines. The biggest hit, however, was the mechanical camel.
William Parr (wearing black cap) rides the mechanical camel while TW McCawley (in white) uses the rowing machine. Both men perished on the Titanic.
