3RD ANNUAL “SAVE A LIFE” BLOOD DRIVE
How many lives have you saved this year? Did you know that for every pint of blood that you donate you can save up to three lives? According to the MVRBC, “every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood, that amounts to approximately 38,000 pints of blood needed every day in the U.S.” Even though about “60% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, as little as 5% actually do. Despite advances in modern medicine, there is no substitute for human blood.”
Join the Davenport Public Library and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center for its 3rd annual “Save A Life Blood Drive” on Saturday, August 21 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fairmount Branch Library. The partnership between the MVRBC and the Davenport Public Library is one of the many ways that the Davenport Public Library reaches out to help the Quad City community. Don’t be part of the 55% that don’t give blood, donate today and help save lives! Who knows, the one that you save could be your own!
To register for a time to give blood, call Steve at (563) 328-6833 or register online. For more information on the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center visit www.bloodcenter.org.
