COMPUTER TUTOR AT FAIRMOUNT ON THURSDAY!
The Davenport Public Library is launching a new technology program for people who need one-on-one computer help. “Computer Tutor” is designed to be a drop-in session where people can ask computer questions and gain one-on-one personalized attention.
Library program coordinator, Angela Campbell, comments “Our reference staff often gets asked technology questions that require more than minimal instruction. Computer Tutor is designed to go beyond basic help.”
Trained staff will be able to help people with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, internet, job searching, setting up email accounts, and how to use library databases.
The Computer Tutor sessions will meet on the first two Thursdays of the month at the Fairmount Branch Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street). The first Thursday of the month will be at 7 p.m., and the second Thursday of the month will be at 2:00 p.m. Additional dates, times, and locations will be added once the Eastern Avenue Branch is open. Library staff anticipates this program to have a regular schedule beginning in September.
Registration is not required. People will be helped on a first come, first served basis. For more information, contact Angela at 563-888-3371.
