OBI Presents “The Country Teacher”

OBI Presents “The Country Teacher”

Come in out of the cold and snow to enjoy hand-picked award-winning foreign and domestic independent movies while eating some delicious popcorn.  The third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m., the Fairmount Branch Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street) invites you to come enjoy these films, snacks, and discussions.

January’s Off-Beat Independent film is The Country Teacher.  A gifted young teacher takes a job teaching natural sciences at a grammar school in the country.  Here he makes the acquaintance of a woman and her troubled 17-year old son.  The teacher has no romantic interest in the woman, but they do form a strong friendship until the teacher’s ex-boyfriend comes out to visit.  Will his jealousy be too much for them all to handle?  Run Time: 115 min.  Rated: NR.

The Country Teacher will be shown on Wednesday, January 20 at 6:00 p.m.  No Registration is required for this FREE event.  For more information visit our website at or call us at (563) 328-6833.
