TEENS – ARE YOU UP FOR THE ‘CHALLENGE?’
Quad City area libraries are sponsoring the teen reading challenge, “Chill Out and Read,” from January 10 – 30, 2010. The teen reading challenge is a three week reading program where teams of teens representing area libraries “challenge” each other to read the most minutes and win the challenge for their community.
Davenport Public Library is encouraging teens to pick up a reading log at either the Main Library or Fairmount Branch, keep track of their reading, and turn it back in to the library for great prizes. Logs with at least 250 minutes of reading qualify teens for a prize and an invitation to the “Challenge Party” on February 5, at the Bettendorf Public Library. In addition to individual prize drawings at the 500, 750, and 1,000-minute levels, the Davenport Public Library Team may also win special prizes.
