Life Is Beautiful at OBI!

Life Is Beautiful at OBI!

life-is-beautiful1It’s hard to imagine a movie about World War II and the tragedy of the Holocaust as being humorous, but director/actor Roberto Benigni accomplishes this very feat with Life is Beautiful. Guido, a charming, yet bumbling waiter, wins the heart of the one he loves and builds a beautiful life for his wife and son. But then WWII escalates, and he has to save his son’s life and innocence. Run time, 116 minutes.

Davenport Public Library’s Off-Beat Independent (OBI) film series will show La Vita è Bella (translated, Life is Beautiful), on Wednesday, December 16, at 6:00 pm, at the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street).  Come in out of the cold for some free popcorn, movie, and great discussion!  For more information call 563-328-6833.
