How many lives have you saved this year? Did you know that for every pint of blood that you donate you can save up to three lives? According to the MVRBC, “every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood, that amounts to approximately 38,000 pints of blood needed every day in the U.S.” Even though about “60% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, as little as 5% actually do. Despite advances in modern medicine, there is no substitute for human blood.”
Join the Davenport Public Library and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center for its 2nd annual “Save A Life Blood Drive” on Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fairmount Street Library. This year Rascal and some of the players from the Quad City River Bandits will be there to encourage and thank you for your donations! Don’t be part of the 55% that don’t give blood, donate today and help save lives!
To register for a time to give blood, call Steve at (563) 328-6833 or register online at www.davenportlibrary.com.
