What do I do with all of my cards?
Davenport Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, “Be Creative @ Your Library” also has great ancillary activities. Join us on Thursday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m., at the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street) for a free, hands-on workshop to learn how to make two different greeting card crafts, from renowned basket weaver, Pat Welti.
Attendees of all ages are invited to create unique greeting cards from used gift wrap and leftover scrap booking materials. To create these works of art, the participants will learn the tea bag folding technique. Once learned, this technique can be used to make a great variety of original greeting cards. Following this portion of the program will be a transformation craft – using old greeting cards to create decorative boxes. These boxes may be used for small gifts or as a way to preserve a special card.
Registration is not required for this free event. Supplies will be provided, however, if you have a special greeting card, gift wrap, or other crafting item you’d like to use or share, you are welcome to bring it to the session.
