Specifically for Seniors presents “The Art of Reinvention”

Specifically for Seniors presents “The Art of Reinvention”

THE ART OF REINVENTION

active seniors

Kate King is the featured presenter at the June 24 “Specifically for Seniors” event at the Davenport Public Library. Join us at 1:00 p.m. at our Fairmount Street location (3000 N. Fairmount Street) to hear great tips and answers for the question, “What Am I Going to Do Today?”

When seniors retire, sometimes they find themselves lonely or not as stimulated as they once were. The old adage for the young creeps in – “What am I going to do with my life?” There are also seniors who unexpectedly end up single and may have to rejoin the workforce to make ends meet. Finally, there are many seniors who want to retire but due to the high costs of healthcare and living expenses, cannot. King will explore these different types of seniors, and how they can still lead a fulfilling life, through volunteerism and activism in the community.

King creates her presentation from her own life experiences, personal encounters, and by using the resources, The Not So Big Life, by Sarah Susanka, and Riding the Dragon, by Robert Wicks. She will also provide a comprehensive list of volunteer opportunities for all seniors to take.

“Specifically for Seniors” is a partnership between Senior Voice and the Davenport Public Library. Join us on the last Wednesday of each month, now through November, at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairmount Street Library to listen and view entertaining and educational presentations from local professionals and celebrities.
