Fireside Knitting Group – Every Tuesday at 6:30
People of all ages are invited to join Fairmount’s “Fireside Knitting” group which meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in front of the fireplace. This group has been meeting at the Library for three years, and during that time, they have donated their knitted/crocheted items to various social organizations throughout the Quad Cities. They’ve helped put hats on babies, given mittens to school kids, and created blankets for seniors.
It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran, the knitting club would be happy to have you. If oyu are a beginner and have never knitted before, they will teach you. You don’t even need your own supplies, they are provided.
So next time you are looking for something to do on a Tuesday night, stop on out at the Davenport Public Library – Fairmount Street for a night of knitting and friendship!

ANIMAL STORY TIME WITH A PET FROM THE QUAD CITY ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER TONIGHT AT 6:30!
Story Time with the Animals of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center
Join the Davenport Public Library and the Quad City Animal Welfare Center (QCAWC) as we venture on a new partnership that is sure to make your little ones feel the warmth and happiness of an animal’s heart! This special event, called “Waggin’ Tales” will be on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street), during the regularly scheduled “Family Story Time.” Come in your pajamas if you would like, bring a stuffed animal, and enjoy an hour of animal adventure with Stacey from the QCAWC and Tamra from the Davenport Public Library. You will have time to pet the animal if you are comfortable or you can just sit and listen to the stories while the animal lies next to the storyteller.
