People of all ages are invited to join Fairmount’s “Fireside Knitting” group which meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in front of the fireplace. This group has been meeting at the Library for three years, and during that time, they have donated their knitted/crocheted items to various social organizations throughout the Quad Cities. They’ve helped put hats on babies, given mittens to school kids, and created blankets for seniors.
It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran, the knitting club would be happy to have you. If oyu are a beginner and have never knitted before, they will teach you. You don’t even need your own supplies, they are provided.
So next time you are looking for something to do on a Tuesday night, stop on out at the Davenport Public Library – Fairmount Street for a night of knitting and friendship!
