LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!

LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!

“Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we’ve no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”

These are the lyrics you might be singing as the winter season begins in the Midwest.  The last line of the verse might be what you sing if you are playing outside and you enjoy the snow or if you make your living by the amount of snow we receive each year.  You might be lucky enough to be all curled up in front of a fireplace with a good book or watching a movie.  But what if you hate driving in this weather?  What if you don’t like the cold temperatures?  What if you just sat down to read a book and you realize that you already finished it?  You don’t want to go out on the messy roads, but you really want to read.  I have the perfect answer!  The first thing you need to do is go to your computer and type in www.davenportlibrary.com.  Once you arrive at the Davenport Library (we are open 24 hours a day on the web you know, rain or snow!), click on “Downloadable Music, Audio, Videos, and Ebooks,” and there you will find ways to access downloadable books (audio and ebooks), music, and videos.  It’s free and you can access it all from the convenience of your home or office).  There are also many other features on our website that might entice your interest, including blogs, podcasts, genealogical information, and much more.  So while you are there, check it out and see what all your Davenport Public Library has to offer.
