Are you a sports enthusiast who just can’t get enough? Do you wish there was a place that you could go to enjoy some food, meet some new sports fans, and be able to tell your spouse that you’re at the library or supporting your local government? Ok, maybe not the last one, that would make a good excuse. Then join us at the Davenport Public Library – Fairmount Street (3000 N. Fairmount Street) for our new Sports Book Discussion Group that meets the fourth Tuesday of every month, September – May at 7:00 P.M. BYOD (non-alcoholic of course), we’ll provide the snacks and the books; and enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment as we explore the wide world of sports! On, Tuesday, November 25 we’ll discuss Jon Krakauer’s book entitled, “Into Thin Air.” Read how the climb to the top of Mt. Everest has claimed many lives through the years except for on one day, one man surprised everyone after laying comatose for more than 12 hours with severe frostbite managed to make it back to camp and make it off the mountain alive.
