The September Project

The September Project

What is the “September Project?”  Who participates in it?  How do I get involved?  These are just a few of the questions that we typically hear when we start talking about the “September Project.”  Let’s start with the basics.  The September Project is a “grassroots effort to encourage events about freedom and democracy in all libraries in all countries during the month of September.”  This is the 5th annual September Project and is sponsored by libraries and librarians from around the world.  According to the September Project website, over 1200 public, academic, school, government, and special libraries in 35 countries have hosted and organized September Project events since 2004.  You can get involved by visiting your library, using all if its resources and enjoying the freedoms of the First Amendment.
