Have you picked up your copy of Gilbert Tuhabonye’s book, This Voice In My Heart? If not, stop in soon to the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street) and tell the Information Desk that you would like to sign-up for the new “Tailgating Sports Book Discussion Group.” After you sign-up you will receive a copy of Tuhabonye’s book, a story that will shake your innermost heart & soul, send you running like a gazelle, and then convince you that you can accomplish anything that you put your heart to, no matter how difficult it may seem at the time!
In his book, Tuhabonye describes the horrible massacre in his village of Burundi, and how he was the sole survivor of the mass genocide inflicted upon his village. After witnessing (and surviving!) this horrible, gruesome event, and making it through the long difficult road to recovery, Tuhabonye has taken his story of strength and survival to the United States – becoming a world class marathon runner, sharing his story through motivational speaking, and becoming a leader and icon to many people around the world.
Don’t miss this Sports Book Discussion kickoff event on Tuesday, September 23, at 7:00 pm. And remember, you need to pick up the book first at the Information Desk at the Fairmount Street Library. A limited number of copies are available. If you have any questions or comments, post them to the blog or email me personally at firstname.lastname@example.org.
