Kicking off “Money Smart Week Quad Cities,” (April 5 – 12) will be a “Community Shred Day” on Saturday, April 5, from 1:30 – 4:30 pm at Davenport Public Library’s Fairmount Street location (3000 N. Fairmount Street). Bring all of your personal documents to be shredded in bulk, for free, with full confidentiality. This program is designed to provide you an easy way to destroy documents, protecting you from identity theft.
Other locations for “Community Shred Day” include the Bettendorf Public Library on April 5, from 9:00 am -12:00 pm; the Rock Island Main Library on April 9, from 4 pm – 6:30 pm; and the Rock Island Southwest Branch on April 12, from 10 am -1 pm.
Money Smart Week (MSW) Quad Cities corresponds with state-wide efforts that will take place at the same time for MSW Iowa and MSW Illinois. More than 30 local organizations have been meeting on a monthly basis to plan, network and leverage resources for a weeklong package of activities and events.
