Toddle Time – Thursday 3/20

Calling all parents of toddlers!  Are you looking for a learning opportunity for your toddler, in a structured, yet fun environment?  Look no further!  The Davenport Public Library is offering a great program entitled, “Toddle Time,” which is a six-week series of story times developed just for toddlers.  In these interactive sessions, an emphasis is placed on concepts, colors, numbers, movement, and song.Due to the overwhelming success of Toddle Time, we are now offering two sessions every six weeks. Join us on  Thursdays at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. at the Fairmount Street Library beginning February 7. There are numerous sessions available, so please call 326-7900 for more information, or to register.

Independent Film – VALENTIN Wednesday 3/19

Tired of the same old movies?  Then come to Davenport Library’s “Off-Beat Independent Films!”  Hand-picked award-winning foreign and domestic independent movies will be shown every third Wednesday of the month at the Fairmount Street Library at 6pm.  Movie-goers will also get a chance to talk about the film after the showing. March’s off-beat independent film is Valentin.  Valentin is an enchanting view of the world as it revolves around one delightfully precocious 8-year-old boy!  With a set of absentee parents and a home life he considers a mess at best, he schemes to fix the problems in his own life.  Filled with wit, humor, and emotion.  Run time: 83 minutes.  Rated: PG-13. Valentin will be shown on Wednesday, March 19, at 6 pm. at the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Tykes & Toddlers Rhymetime Wednesday 3/19

Introduce your child to the magic of language through the use of simple nursery rhymes and music with Davenport Public Library’s children’s series, “Tykes & Toddlers Rhymetime.” This program features games, songs, and stories geared toward increasing reading readiness and, of course, having fun! This six-week series is geared toward children aged 0-3, and does not require registration. Join us on Wednesdays, February 6 – March 19, at 2 p.m. for “Tykes & Toddlers Rhymetime” at the Fairmount Street Library (3000 N. Fairmount Street).
