The birthday celebration for the legendary Bix Beiderbecke brought in over 250 people on Tuesday, March 11 at the Davenport Public Library – Fairmount Street. While celebrating what would have been Bix’s 105th birthday, people ate hotdogs and cake, drank coffee and lemonade, and listened to the toe-tapping music of the Bix All-Star Band. Rave reviews were left by people exiting the rooms and the hallway while they were humming some of those great dixieland tunes that only Bix himself could master. QC Times video clip of the event.
