In 1893, George Ferris went to Chicago to show his invention to the thousands of people who were coming to the Columbian Exhibition. Ferris had invented a ride that would later be called the ferriswheel. The remarkable thing about Ferris’ 1893 wheel was that it held 36 cars, and instead of two people to a car, each car held 60 people!
