Did you know archaeologists believe humans invented the paintbrush around 30,000 BC? The famous cave paintings at Altamuira, Spain and Lascaux, France are thought to be partly created with paintbrushes. These brushes may have been nothing more than sticks with one end chewed until it was bristly. (Some archaeologists also believe parts of these paintings were done by spitting!)
