Mississippi Monday

What a difference a day makes!  Powerful earthquakes in 1811 and 1812 changed the Mississippi River forever.  As a result of those earthquakes, islands in the Mississippi River disappeared under the water, and new creations appeared.  An entire lake, 18 miles long, appeared in Tennessee.  The earthquake dammed the water at both ends, creating the body of water.

Join us on Mississippi Mondays to learn about the remarkable river that is part of our community.
