The famous Taj Mahal in Agra, India is different from other buildings around the world. It wasn’t built as a palace for kings. It wasn’t built as a marketplace. It was built to be a memory. Shah Jahan, a Mohgal emperor, had the Taj Mahal built after his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal died. Workers began building the Taj Mahal in 1641. It took 20,000 workers, oxen, and elephants 22 years to complete.
