Holiday Movie Mania!

If you’re looking for some holiday family fun, look no further than the Davenport Public Library.  We will be celebrating the holidays at our Fairmount and Eastern Avenue Branches by having a holiday movie marathon with all of your favorite holiday movies.  If you haven’t gotten your dose of Rudolph this year, then we’ll hook you up.  If you yearn to see the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes, then we’ve got you covered.  If you’ve been humming “I’m Mr. Heat Miser” but haven’t actually seen the Rankin/Bass special in a while, then your wait is over.  And if you’ve never seen “Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas,” a truly hilarious and heart-warming Muppet retelling of The Gift of the Magi, then you do not want to miss the movie mania.  Here are the details:

The festivities will begin at 10:00 am on Monday December 20th at the Fairmount Branch and at 10:00 am on Tuesday December 21st at the Eastern Avenue Branch.  The marathon will continue until almost 4:00 pm, so feel free to come for one movie, or stay for them all.  We’ll be serving hot cocoa and candy canes (which make about the best cocoa stirrers on the planet!) to add to the holiday cheer.  If you want to stay warm and feel jolly, hit the library this Monday & Tuesday.  Here’s the schedule of movies:

10:00 am Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

11:00 am How the Grinch Stole Christmas

11:30 am Frosty the Snowman

12:00 pm Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas

1:00 pm The Year Without a Santa Claus

2:00 pm A Christmas Story

Come celebrate the holidays with us!
