Construction timeline
May 2009 – The Eastern Avenue Branch construction project is out for bid. Preliminary work on the site is done by the City’s Public Works Department
June 2009 – Construction contract is awarded
July 2009 – Ground breaking takes place
September 22, 2009 – begin drilling geo-thermal well field
October 5, 2009 – finish installation of roof decking
October 6, 2009 – finish site grading and place topsoil
October 13, 2009 – begin work on site plantings
October 19, 2009 – finish drilling geo-thermal well field
October 22, 2009 – finish site paving, including city sidewalks
October 28, 2009 – roof completed; begin installation of exterior brick and stone; pouring of concrete floor completed.
November 12, 2009 – window installation begins
December 16, 2009 – interior walls drywalled
January 11, 2010 – Building structure completed!
February, 2010 – interior walls painted
March 15, 2010 – Begin carpet installation
April 8, 2010 – project substantially completed and installation of equipment and furnishings begins.
Summer 2010 – Eastern Avenue Branch Library opens!!
